sending food

Is it all right to send food items such as cookies while our marines are at Camp Geiger for training? I realize that this is not the same as boot camp but wanted to be sure. Thanks so much.

I think it depends on the platoon.  My son has encouraged me to send stuff (and I send a box a week) but he stressed NO BAKED GOODS, so I have not done the cookie thing.  I send stuff like a game for...

I would not. They don't really have the ability to store much, and baked goods can be a temptation for rodents in the barracks!

Each MOS school has different rules about food in the barracks. MOST say it is ok, but I would wait and see!

The boxes are always subject to inspection for security purposes. Better to be safe than sorry. Sad, but necessary!! Shouldn't be an issue with the Marine or the sender if only things on the up and up...
